Transparency matters to us. Here's exactly how SnagPulse makes money and how affiliate links work.
How We Make Money
SnagPulse is a free deal discovery service. We earn revenue in a few ways:
- Affiliate commissions - When you click a link on SnagPulse and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer or affiliate network. This is our primary source of income.
- Display advertising - We show ads through Google AdSense on our website.
- Newsletter advertising - Our Beehiiv newsletter may include sponsored content or ads.
- Paid memberships - We offer optional Ghost memberships ($2.99-$5.99/month) for early deal access and other perks.
Affiliate Programs We Participate In
SnagPulse is a participant in the following affiliate programs:
Amazon Associates
SnagPulse (snagpulse.com) is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Other Affiliate Networks and Programs
- eBay Partner Network - For eBay deal links
- Rakuten Advertising - Connecting us with retail partners like Newegg
- CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction) - Connecting us with various retail partners
- Direct retailer programs - Some retailers offer direct affiliate partnerships (e.g., Walmart)
How Affiliate Links Work
When we share a deal, the link to the retailer typically includes a small tracking code. If you click that link and make a purchase (usually within a set time window, like 24 hours for Amazon), the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale as a commission. The percentage varies by retailer and product category but is typically between 1-8%.
This costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go directly to the retailer. The commission comes out of the retailer's marketing budget, not your pocket.
Editorial Independence
Our affiliate relationships do not influence which deals we share. Here's how we keep things honest:
- We share deals because they are genuinely good deals, not because one retailer pays a higher commission than another.
- We use an automated scoring algorithm that evaluates deals based on discount percentage, product reviews, community feedback, and other objective factors. Commission rates are not a factor in scoring.
- We will share deals from retailers we don't have affiliate relationships with if they're worth sharing. In those cases, we just don't earn anything.
- We will call out bad deals or misleading "sales" regardless of our affiliate relationships.
- We never accept payment from retailers or brands to feature specific products or fabricate deals.
FTC Compliance
This disclosure page exists in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255). We also include affiliate disclosures in our social media posts, newsletter, and anywhere else we share affiliate links.
